Tooth Docs Battle Ground

  • Dr. Lenz started her career in dentistry as a dental assistant in 2006 when she completed the Clark County Skills Center Dental Assisting Program as a high school student. Her first dental assisting position was with the now-retired pediatric dentist, Dr. Ronald Lund in Hazel Dell, Washington.

She continued her work as a dental assistant throughout her time in college and dental school at an emergency dental office in Omaha, Nebraska where she gained a vast amount of hands-on knowledge while assisting several different dentists. She attended University of Nebraska Medical Center where she completed advanced research in Bacterial Adherence to Sealant Materials and Orthodontic Bonding Agents and graduated with two regional awards. She received the W.W. Webster Oral Surgery Award for demonstrating outstanding ability in performing oral surgery as well as the American Association of Public Health Dentistry Award for demonstrating outstanding achievements in community dentistry and dental public health. She has also been recognized by Komet USA in the Outstanding Women in Dentistry category in 2016.

Erica moved “home” to the Vancouver area with her husband in 2017 and Dr. Erica Lenz began working for Comfort Dental. She has one son named Arthur. She is most appreciated by patients for her gentle and relatable chairside manner as well as her ability to explain things thoroughly. Her dentistry knowledge is very well rounded and her skills include extractions, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, clear-aligner therapy, and dental implants.

  • Lauren has been a dental assistant since 2011 when she graduated from Charter College in Vancouver, Washington. Lauren is DANB certified and holds both a CDA (certified dental assistant) and an RDA (registered dental assistant) license. She graduated from an Oregon EFDA Restorative program and became certified to place fillings for patients after she passed her board exam and licensure for both Oregon and Washington state. She has a wide range of dental experience and has worked in both the front and back office. She is very clinically knowlegeable and is experienced in implants, in-house bleaching, clear aligners, and cosmetic dentistry. She strives to make patients feel comfortable and at ease while in the dental office and loves help educate patients on their treatment plans. She is our main training assistant and loves to teach other assistants the skills she's acquired over her years in the dental field. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Lauren grew up in Battle Ground and lives here with her family now. She is so excited to help build a practice here in her hometown. Prior to helping start Tooth Docs, she worked as an assistant at Dr. Lenz and Dr. Smith's other practice in Camas. She's had a long working relationship and friendship with Dr. Lenz both in and out of work and makes a great foundation to our team at Tooth Docs.

  • Katie came back to dentistry after taking a break from the field to help us open Tooth Docs in September of 2021! She has one of our favorite hire stories, because she was originally one of Dr. Lenz’s patients. While chatting at one of her appointments, Dr. Lenz told her that if she ever wanted to come back to dentistry, she would have a spot waiting for her. A few months later, Katie showed up resume in hand and the rest is history! She originally received her diploma in Dental Assisting from Arizona College in 2014. She also passed the DANB in both Radiation and Infection control. Katie is a gem to have around the office. Patients appreciate her outgoing personality and ability to connect with them and help them understand their treatment. She has been enthusiastic about reawakening her interest in dentistry and getting acquainted with the dental office again. In her free time she enjoys rock climbing with her husband and two children. She’s quickly become a part of our little work family and we are so lucky to have her.

  • Yvonne is our staff member with the most dental experience, completing her Dental Assisting program at South Puget Sound Community College in 1999. Yvonne became an EFDA (restorative assistant) in 2010 and has been placing fillings since then. She’s worked mostly in specialty offices including both endodontic and pediatric offices, but has also done lots of temping in various Comfort Dental locations, which is how she stumbled upon and met Dr. Lenz and Dr. Smith in 2018. She worked with us at our Camas location for a period of time, and then came on with us more recently at Tooth Docs when we opened this past fall of 2021. She has worked extensively in both private and federal practices and has a wide range of experience in all aspects of dentistry. She has done several volunteer projects through the years including the Smile Van and various community dental programs. We love having Yvonne around the office for her bright and enthusiastic demeanor as well as her constant optimism and teamwork skills.

  • Carly's dental career began in 2017 when she started out working as a dental assistant intern for Dr. Lenz and Dr. Smith at their previous office. She excelled as an assistant and quickly became a stand-out employee. Her organization and ability to problem-solve was recognized over time and when a position opened at the front office, the doctors approached her and asked her to train and take over. Carly quickly became the show-runner and has done nothing but accelerate the growth of both offices. She has become the most knowledgeable about dental insurance, credentialing, chart auditing, appeals, and coding. Her background in clinical dentistry, dependability, and thorough work ethic make her a perfect fit for our Patient Care Coordinator.

  • Hannah joined Dr. Smith and Dr. Lenz at Comfort Dental Camas in 2020 right after she graduated from University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s in Health and Behavioral Sciences. She knew she wanted to go into Dental Hygiene, but wanted to get her foot in the door in dentistry first and applied for an open dental assisting job. Without any experience, the doctors took a chance on her and were so glad they did. She was trained from scratch and quickly became one of our most requested assistants. Hannah has a diverse skill set and is known around the office for her perfect temporaries, ability to polish and shine any kind of stain off someone’s teeth, and her thorough and thoughtful note-taking. She brings a lot to our team with her bright, shiny demeanor and attention to detail and we are so excited to welcome her to the Tooth Docs team! She not only makes a fantastic chairside assistant and is frequently requested by patients for their cleanings and crown adjustments, but she is also in charge of all of our social media activity. If you get a chance, give us a visit and send her a like or a comment on instagram or facebook!

  • Kim was first introduced to dentistry as a teenager, when she worked in a dental office for a short period of time. Although she enjoyed it, she spent most of her career as an estimator at a small printing company in Portland, Oregon. She made a career change in 2020 when she wanted to work closer to her home in Hockinson, Washington and spend more time with family, so she was brought on at Dr. Lenz and Dr. Smith’s other office in Camas. Her professionalism and experience in customer service stood out immediately. She picked up the skills needed to learn dental insurance and terminology quickly and has become an integral part of our team. Our front desk would be lost without her. Kim is married with two children, one still at home and one who plays soccer at Montana State University. She is always down to celebrate and have a good time and she is also in charge of celebrating our birthdays and work anniversaries at the office.
